But should we read the works that deal with the South only?

My hope is that you pick a Southern author with a Southern setting. We like to think of Twain as southern, but he actually was from Missouri making him a Midwestern. BUT, he wrote so much about the Mississippi river, that he is eligible for the challenge.

I do want challengers to feel the sticky, smack-in-your-face, Southern humidity which usually occurs when reading a Southern setting book. :)
