Funny Miss Twiggley by Dorothea Warren Fox is my absolute, all-time favorite children's book. As a girl, I asked my Aunt to read it to me EVERY night. The book is about courage and overcoming fears and shyness. Until recently, it has been of print for several years.
Funny Miss Twiggley Lived in a tree With a dog named Puss And a color TV She did what she liked And liked what she did
But when company came...
Miss Twiggley hid
It's not that I don't like people said she But one get's a little shy When one lives in a tree
These are excellent titles and thanks for sharing. I have had the pleasure of reading both Stinky and VBD during storytime, but Doris...how did I miss your title? It is very lyrical. ;) I'll need to look that one up on alibris.com!

I always like "The Stinky Cheese Man" when I was growing up. It was funny and had great artwork.
Good choice. I was a big fan of "Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day".

I still laugh every time I think of reading The Cut-Ups by James Marshall or Sheep in a Jeep by Nancy Shaw.
Rick, Beep Beep! I love Sheep in a Jeep!
Teacher, I hate to admit this, but I've never read Pinnochio! What kind of Librarian am I?
