I came out as O'Conner too, which is intersting 'cause I thought the way I answered the questions I would be Hemingway or Faulkner (but in both cases there was at least one question where I would have been different than one of them)
ReplyDeleteThat's funny, Sage! The last question, I thought, was a dead ringer for O'Connor. The answer is something like, "I'm looking for one good man." But, that's not true in all cases. I mean, I got Anne Rice when I answered the "folklore, ghost story" as being a nice home along with "one good man."

ReplyDeleteAnd re: your last post...after reading lots and lots of heavy, Jane Austen-ish literature in college, I would always have what I called a "summer of trash," reading only one classic and filling the rest of the time with Danielle Steel, John Grisham and People magazine. Everyone needs a break!

Ah, thanks Tiffany, for breaking the O'Connor code. It's funny but I feel guilty reading any fiction, fun or work. It's like I can hear someone nagging, "shouldn't you be doing the laundry." :D With NF, I can proudly display the book as textbook and claim I'm not wasting my time, I'm learning something.
