... as in I didn't read all five books, BUT I read one!
I read Billy Budd by Herman Melville! It's about time, too. I bought the collection of Melville stories when we got back from our honeymoon, over 16 years ago. The book is horribly yellow and crisp. I'm lucky it didn't disintegrate as I turned the pages.
Thanks ever so much to Booklogged at A Reader's Journal for this challenge. I got one more book read because of the contest! ;)

Don't feel bad. We can unite, I only read one too! Gah. Well, there's always the next challenge right?
Just wondering...if we had challenged ourselves to one would we have read the one? Maybe, my expectations are too high. :)
One book is great! Congrats!
Ah, no one's a failure with friends. :-)
That's one of my favorite stories. Looking forward to Moby Dick? A little light summer reading?
I think anyone who read one classic this year is doing well. They are not always the most enjoyable things to read, especially with all the wonderful books we hear about from our book blogging friends. I had a terribly hard time reading classics. Don't know if it was the winter months, or if I was just in a reading slump. Just wanted to read mysteries.
I think you should pat yourself on the back.
Ah, thanks Booklogged, this was a great challenge and you were a doll for doing this!
AQ thanks for stopping by! I love Moby Dick! I read it on our honeymoon on Nantucket Island. It's the book that created my inner reading monster!
