Here's an idea for promoting Mississippi Writers in Residence!
Picture Faulkner's spread in Oxford:
a writer in the attic, horse barn, cook house, parlor, back pasture, etc.
I see myself assigned the porch
where I can do double duty as booktalker and greeter!
Thank you so much for that! And you'd be perfect at Mr. F's house!
ReplyDeleteI could type and rock up a storm at the same time, Nan! All I need is a little table for my iced tea! ;D
ReplyDeleteI read an ARC of Rocket Man by this author a couple of months ago.
ReplyDeleteI remember touring Faulkner's home when I was on a college trip (mid 70s). I'd taken a Faulkner seminar and then we traveled to MS and NO over Spring Break with our professor. Great trip, great memories. One thing I remember is the mark on the wallpaper behind Faulkner's bed - apparently it was where his head rested while he wrote sitting up. . . I wonder if that's fact or legend, lol.
Happy New Year!
So, what did ya think of the book Mary?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great trip Mary! We have one of those marks on our leather sofa where hubby leans his head as his book gets heavy! ;D I raise my hand for fact.
I guess the sanitorium was not on the schedule, but it was probably still standing in Byhalia. I would like to know if he wrote on those walls. Happy New Year!
This is great! Happy New Year, Maggie!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you too, Lisa!
